In our research for this site we went and asked Times Top 100 employers what they were looking for in graduates...
We asked the following questions: |

We found there was a little variation in the answers, dependent on which industry the employer was in, but generally they had similar responses.

- Nearly ALL of the employers are looking for a graduate who tailors themselves and their CV to the employer and job they are going for.
- Candidates who want the job must show enthusiasm and knowledge for the job they are applying for. This is more important than the degree attained in many cases.
- A covering letter that shows enthusiasm and knowledge for the job can guarantee an interview in some application cases.
- At graduate level many company’s look for potential rather than experience. Though relevant work experience will help you get the job.
